TREATMENT REGIMEN

Emily has suffered with intermittent symptoms of perioral dermatitis over the past 5 years. She wanted to improve her skin condition and avoid the need for prescription antibiotics as much as possible as she was breastfeeding throughout the trial. Emily's Skin Journey

Seeing my before and after photos gave me a feeling of relief! I have battled with ongoing Perioral Dermatitis for years. Prior to that, my skin was good. Not great, but good! When I look at my after photo on the right my skin looks great! And it feels great and I genuinely feel fabulous! Prior to the trial my skin was dry, patchy, risen, inflamed, uncomfortable and very very sad. Anytime I put a product on my skin whether it be makeup or skincare I had instant regrets as my skin would flare up with dermatitis almost instantly. I was pregnant and instead of having the pregnancy glow everyone talks about, I had the absolute opposite and it was really tough. I would turn up online to work meetings with my camera turned off as it was so noticeable. Because my skin was so sensitive to dermatitis in particular areas I would go through a stage where I couldn’t put anything at all on my skin, so the areas that were okay would suffer also. Then when my skin was just so dry I had to put something on to relieve it, it would feed the dermatitis and I would be back to square one. It was a cycle that just kept continuing. I booked an appointment with a recommended dermatologist and they were unable to provide actual products or advice to assist with the perioral dermatitis and said to just put minimal products on my skin and use Cetaphil moisturiser. This advice didn’t help and the cycle continued where I wouldn’t wear any makeup or use any of my existing products and that it should clear up once I had given birth. My skin did not clear up post-birth and it was clear this wasn’t just hormonal but something I was going to need to manage moving forward. I noticed an instant change from day 1. My skin was clean and hydrated instantly with NO flare up. My skin hadn’t felt hydrated in a very long time and I was so shocked at how much the power broker in particular hydrated by also calmed the dermatitis instantly. Over time the raised patches around my mouth and eyes just kept reducing in size and the redness continued to reside. I also wore make-up approximately 6 weeks in and my skin didn’t flare up, I couldn’t believe it.
